Omazaki Design & Build is also a design consultant and contractor for lightning protection systems and grounding projects in Indonesia. As a contractor, we design, present and install external and internal lightning protection systems, both active and passive, conventional protection (such as Franklin and Faraday cage) or modern lightning protection systems such as radius, electrostatic and even radioactive types, for the industrial sector, buildings such as buildings high-rise buildings, hospitals, or for sports fields such as golf courses or driving range, as well as appropriate earthing systems. The level of our service is highly dependent on the level of risk of lightning strikes as well as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policy implemented by the client. Consultants and contractors services can be services in the form of installation of simple lightning protection system with uncomplicated technical considerations, or it can even be a large project that requires a site survey, evaluation, assessment, review, and/or in-depth study first. Basic and Detailed Design
The lightning protection system installation planning and design consulting services that we serve cover:
- Site Survey
- Collection of data oh the objects to be protected
- Collection of data and information related to lightning risk assessment
- Data collection regarding alternative locations for external lightning protection system (LPS)
- Soil resistivity test (if needed)
- Lightning Protection Need Assessment
- Calculation of lightning strike density
- Evaluate the object you want to protect
- Determining whether an external LPS is needed through analysis of the risk of lightning strikes
- Calculation and analysis of protection levels, and protection zones
- Determining the appropriate type of protection, both external and internal protection
- Designing of External Lightning Protection
- Determination using standard LPS or non-standard LPS
- If using standard LPS, determine and calculate the placement of air-terminals with the appropriate method (rolling sphere, protective angle or mesh method)
- If using non-standard LPS, determine the type to be used whether early streamer emission (ESE), collecting volume method (CVM), and so on
- Modeling and simulation using software or using ordinary graphic techniques
- Determination and calculation of down-conductor requirements
- Construction design of the mechanical structure of the external LPS
- Making an external LPS grounding system design
- Calculation of grounding system requirements (grounding electrodes, and so on)
- Designing of Internal Lightning Protection
- Analysis of the need for surge protection devices
- Protection zone calculation and protection rating of the system or equipment to be protected
- Calculation and determination of the capacity of surge protection equipment
- Designing of Grounding and Bonding
- Define grounding and bonding system design
- Earthing electrode and bonding conductor sizing
- Modeling is followed by simulation using software
- Shop-drawing grounding and bonding
- Evaluation and review of technical and design of existing lightning protection system
